Description

For the Croutons:

  • 3 cups cubed day-old bread (sourdough or French baguette)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or garlic butter

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • Optional: 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese

For the Chicken:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon paprika

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

For the Salad:

  • 1 large head romaine lettuce, chopped

  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese

  • ½ cup Caesar dressing (store-bought or homemade)

  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste


Instructions

Make the Croutons:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Toss bread cubes in olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and optional parmesan.

  3. Spread evenly on a baking sheet.

  4. Bake for 10–15 minutes, flipping once, until golden and crisp.

  5. Let cool completely before adding to salad.

Cook the Chicken:

  1. Rub chicken breasts with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  2. Grill or pan-sear over medium heat for 6–7 minutes per side or until fully cooked.

  3. Let rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly.

Assemble the Salad:

  1. Add chopped romaine to a large bowl.

  2. Top with sliced chicken, croutons, parmesan cheese, and dressing.

  3. Toss gently and season with black pepper.

  4. Serve immediately and enjoy!

  • Make croutons in advance and store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
