Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (lean or 80/20)

  • 3 cups uncooked penne pasta

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan (optional, for topping)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika (optional)

  • ½ tsp dried Italian herbs (oregano, thyme, basil)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta:
Boil penne in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. Sauté the garlic and beef:
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant (1–2 minutes). Add ground beef and cook until browned. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and herbs.

  3. Add cheese:
Reduce heat to low. Stir in mozzarella and cheddar. Mix until cheese is fully melted and combined.

  4. Combine pasta and sauce:
Add cooked penne to the skillet. Toss everything together until the pasta is coated in the cheesy garlic butter sauce.

  5. Serve:
Garnish with Parmesan or chopped parsley if desired. Serve hot.
